• The Colorado Springs Kiwanis Foundation (CSKF) was organized in 1954 to provide the Kiwanis Club of Colorado Springs a vehicle to accomplish its charitable activities. Each regular member of the club is also, automatically, a member of the foundation. 

  The first funds received by the Foundation was a contribution of $450 from a Kiwanis-sponsored fireworks display.  Soon after, a grant of $430 was made on behalf of the Foundation to the local YMCA to construct a boat dock at the “Y” camp.

  Since then, many members of the Club have made contributions to the Foundation over the years, and the Foundation now maintains a corpus of approximately $250,000 (Dec. 2021).  Annual earnings are distributed via a grant process to local non-profits with special emphasis on less fortunate or at-risk children.

  The affairs of the Foundation are managed by its board of trustees.  Five members of the Kiwanis Club of Colorado Springs are elected and serve as Foundation Trustees until the next election. 

  CSKF is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation operating as a public charity.  As such, contributions made to the Foundation may be deductible as determined under Internal Revenue Service regulations.  A subsequent receipt of funds is sent to every contributor.

• Members of the community, as well as club members, may donate to CKF by means of:

• Checks, securities or other property.
• Bequest in your will.
•  Donation in memory of a relative or friend.
•  Quarterly donation along with club dues.
